Lots of people have been asking will Spider-Man Miles Morales be on PS4 or is it a PS5 exclusive, and everyone thought they had the answer before Sony recently changed the chess board.
Yep, Marvel’s Spider-Man landed on PlayStation 4 and we couldn’t deny that we’d love to be launching ourselves across the summits of New York City’s tall towers too.
Sony said that they had no interest in making their next-gen games backwards compatible with the current-gen due to believing in generations. This and other facets resulted in people believing that every next-gen exclusive from them would not be available on the current-gen.
With Spider-Man PS4, however, we have a game published by Sony Interactive Entertainment itself. That would mean, barring a minor miracle, there’d be very little chance of the game ever appearing. Insomniac Games and Sony don’t appear to have any plans to bring Marvel’s Spider-Man and Miles Morales to PC or other platforms, at least that we know of. And the store pages for both don’t.
However, we have only just learned that Spider-Man Miles Morales will be on the PS4 come November 12th along with the PS5 as a launch title.
The game isn’t exclusive to the next-generation, but there is an Ultimate Edition which provides a discount for Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered.
If you purchase it on PS4, there will be a free upgrade available for when you make the move to PS5. However, this is only applicable if you purchase a digital copy of the game rather than a physical one.

Yesterday’s PS5 reveal event was a fantastic outing as we saw a lot of incredible reveals such as Resident Evil 8, a new Ratchet and Clank, and – most surprisingly – the futuristic console itself. While the event officially started with GTA 5, Spider-Man Miles Morales was another early banger that wowed Sony fans. However, people are unsure about whether it will be on PS4 or if it’s just a PS5 exclusive.
Aside from the star of the hit Multiverse movie back in 2018, Sony also revealed another exclusive from a hit IP of theirs in the form of Horizon Zero Dawn 2 (officially titled Horizon 2: Forbidden West). We unfortunately didn’t get to see a whole lot of Aloy’s next adventure, but Sony loyalists undoubtedly have a lot to look forward to with Ratchet and Clank, Horizon Zero Dawn 2, and another web-slinging adventure being just the beginning.
However, for those who won’t be able to make the leap to the next-gen from the get-go, below you’ll discover whether Spider-Man Miles Morales will be on PS4.

Spider-Man Miles Morales PS5 release date
The release date for Spider-Man Miles Morales on PS5 is Holiday 2020.
This is the same release window as the PS5 console itself, so it’s possible that Spider-Man Miles Morales will launch on the very same day as Sony’s next-gen system.
Some fans are confused about whether the title is an expansion upon Peter Parker’s outing in 2018 or whether it’s a full-blown sequel.
PlayStation Blog says the following:
“The latest adventure in the Spider-Man universe will build on and expand Marvel’s Spider-Man through an all-new story.
Players will experience the rise of Miles Morales as he masters new powers to become his own Spider-Man.”
It doesn’t appear to be an expansion ala DLC, but there will most probably be a Spider-Man 2 with Peter Parker again in the near future.

Spider-Man Miles isn’t announced to be coming to PS4 (update: Spider-Man Miles Morales is confirmed to be coming to PS4 as well as PS5).
The game has only been announced for PS5 which means that Spider-Man Miles Morales will not be on PS4.
Although some will be disappointed by this decision, Sony did say that their next-gen exclusives wouldn’t be limited by being cross-gen.
